About Calis
Calis is situated to the north-west of Fethiye town centre and boasts a four-kilometre beach famous for its sunsets, wind-surfing and kite-boarding. The beach is also a nesting site for sea turtles and was one of the locations in the 007 adventure, Skyfall.
In summer, the average temperature is often around 32C. However, in winter, temperatures rarely drop below 10C.
The community has its own Sunday market, doctors’ surgeries, bakers, chemists, supermarkets and numerous shops. Bars and restaurants also line the popular seaside promenade.
The state hospital is nearby while regular bus services connect the community with Fethiye. The water taxi to Fethiye and daily boat tours to the islands and bays also run in the summer months.
